Heaven 35 Limited engaged Civicrete's architectural team for the design and supervision of a landmark luxury development on the Mombasa coast. The project comprises a striking multi-storey residential and hospitality building with cascading terraces, a large swimming pool complex, and meticulously landscaped grounds framed by tropical vegetation. Arch. David Matole led the design development, producing revised architectural drawings that incorporate a contemporary white modernist facade with expansive glazing, glass-railed balconies on each floor, and a resort-style outdoor environment. The pool design includes a 16m × 8m main pool with a 1.8m deep end, balancing channel, underground water distribution sump, and a possible waterfall feature zone. External paving utilises Mazeras stone throughout terraces and approach areas.
Coastal Environment Durability
Mombasa's marine climate demands high-specification concrete mixes with chloride-resistant admixtures, epoxy-coated reinforcement in exposed zones, and stainless steel fixings for all facade elements to prevent accelerated corrosion.
Swimming Pool Structural Complexity
The pool's deep-end transition from 1.8m to a shallow end of 1.1m required careful slope beam design and a Balancing Channel / overflow system coordinated with the underground water distribution sump (4m × 10m × 2.5m depth) and pump room.
Phased Design Revisions
Client-driven design iterations required multiple revised drawing packages (April–May revision cycle). Civicrete managed design-change coordination across structural, architectural, and landscaping disciplines without impacting programme.
