National Cement Co. Limited

The Cement Grinding Plant Line II at Turbo East represents one of Civicrete's largest ongoing structural design and supervision mandates. National Cement Company engaged Civicrete to provide comprehensive design and construction supervision services for the expansion of their grinding capacity. Our team, led by Eng. Muturi Benson and Arch. David Matole, is responsible for all structural elements, regulatory coordination with the National Construction Authority and NEMA, and full project oversight through to commissioning. The project significantly expands Kenya's domestic cement production capacity.

Hill View Hotel

The Hill View Hotel 15-storey commercial development in Westlands, Nairobi is one of Civicrete's flagship ongoing projects. The mandate covers everything from ground investigation through to structural completion. Work involves planning of all structural elements, geotechnical investigations to establish soil bearing capacity, comprehensive structural calculations and analysis, production of full working drawing sets, and site inspections at every critical stage as instructed by the structural engineer. Our team is actively liaising with the Nairobi County Government, NEMA, and the National Construction Authority to fast-track the approval process and keep the programme on schedule.

Devki Steel Mills

Devki Steel Mills engaged Civicrete to provide design and construction supervision services for their new palletisation plant — a strategic expansion of one of Kenya's largest steel manufacturing operations. Civicrete's scope covers the full structural design package including process equipment foundations designed for heavy dynamic loads, structural steel framing, overhead crane runway beams, and all ancillary civil structures. The project is being executed on a consulting basis and represents a significant industrial engineering mandate that demonstrates Civicrete's capability in heavy industrial plant design.

Heaven 35 Limited

Heaven 35 Limited engaged Civicrete's architectural team for the design and supervision of a landmark luxury development on the Mombasa coast. The project comprises a striking multi-storey residential and hospitality building with cascading terraces, a large swimming pool complex, and meticulously landscaped grounds framed by tropical vegetation. Arch. David Matole led the design development, producing revised architectural drawings that incorporate a contemporary white modernist facade with expansive glazing, glass-railed balconies on each floor, and a resort-style outdoor environment. The pool design includes a 16m × 8m main pool with a 1.8m deep end, balancing channel, underground water distribution sump, and a possible waterfall feature zone. External paving utilises Mazeras stone throughout terraces and approach areas.

Parrot Investment

The Parrot Investment 12-storey residential block in Embakasi's Fedha Estate was completed in 2020 and stands as one of Civicrete's most comprehensive completed building projects. The project involved full-cycle engagement from geotechnical ground investigation to final commissioning. Our team conducted detailed soil investigations to determine bearing capacity before designing the substructure, and subsequently carried out structural design of all superstructure elements. Civicrete managed the preparation of engineers' estimates, tender documentation, construction supervision, and project commissioning — delivering a complex high-rise residential development on programme and within budget.

National Cement Co. Limited

The 10MW Waste Heat Recovery project at National Cement's Rabai Kaloleni facility in Kilifi County is a landmark sustainable energy project in Kenya's cement industry. Civicrete is providing design and construction supervision for the civil and structural elements of this plant, which captures waste heat from the cement manufacturing process to generate electricity — significantly reducing the plant's reliance on grid power. The project involves highly specialised structural engineering for dynamic machinery foundations, high-temperature process pipework structures, and the boiler building, all designed to withstand the unique thermal and vibration loads of power generation equipment.

National Cement Co. Limited

The Kiln De-Bricking and Refractory Installation project for National Cement demonstrates Civicrete's specialist capability in cement plant maintenance operations. Cement kilns require periodic replacement of their internal refractory brick lining — a technically demanding task requiring execution within tight plant shutdown windows to minimise production downtime. Civicrete's team carried out systematic de-bricking of the worn lining, installation of new refractory anchor studs by welding, and complete installation of new refractory bricks across the kiln cell. The project was completed on schedule and to National Cement's quality specification, restoring the kiln to full thermal efficiency.

Government of Rwanda

The rehabilitation of the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda's Kigali office complex was one of Civicrete's first major international projects, executed on behalf of the Government of Rwanda. The project covered the design of all mechanical, electrical, and fire-fighting systems for the rehabilitation of the Muhima office blocks. A significant emphasis was placed on energy efficiency in both the electrical and mechanical designs — a key client priority. Civicrete's team developed the full design from schematic through to construction documentation, provided expertise to the construction team during implementation, and led the final commissioning of all building services systems.

Bamburi Special Products

Bamburi Special Products trusted Civicrete with the maintenance of their Athiriver and Kitui Road ready mix concrete facilities — a mandate reflecting the strong long-term partnership between the two organisations built over years of successful industrial maintenance at the Mombasa cement plant. The scope covered mechanical equipment maintenance, civil structure repairs, and structural maintenance works across both plant locations. Operating ready mix plants require continuous maintenance to sustain production output and mix quality, and Civicrete's team delivered reliable, timely maintenance services that kept both facilities running at capacity.
